PROCEDURES
FOR OBTAINING APPROVAL OF A SUBDIVISION OR

Customer/Developer applies to the Evans County Health
Department for the requested approval. A
preliminary plat is submitted at this time, a copy of which is sent to the

Health
Department Environmentalist advises customer on how to obtain soil data
information. Customer is responsible for
getting this information in the form of a properly prepared soil report and a
color coded plat giving the location of various soil types and topographic
survey, erosion & sediment control plan and other pertinent data. If private wells are to be installed, lot
sizes must reflect this. If a public
water system is to be used, a letter of approval from the Georgia

The
subdivision plan must include all information as required by the Evans County
Subdivision Ordinance. After the plan is
reviewed, the county will approve or disapprove the subdivision plan.

After
the county’s approval of subdivision plans, the Health Department
Environmentalist will issue septic tank permits to individuals as they apply.
PROCEDURES FOR OBTAINING AN INDIVIDUAL
SEPTIC TANK PERMIT IN

Customer completes septic tank transmittal at the

Customer
then goes to the Evans County Health Department and fills out an application
which contains information needed by the Health Department. The permit fee is paid at the Health
Department.

A
site evaluation is performed and a permit written with specifications for
installation. The customer is advised
they can be present when this is done.
The customer is notified to come in to sign the permit and obtain a
copy. Customer is advised to give a copy
to their Septic Tank Contractor who must notify Health Department to be
inspected by Health Department before covering, no exceptions.

Customer
must obtain building permit or location permit at the Assessors Office prior to
starting construction or moving a mobile home.
